Sports Therapy/Orthopedic Therapy
- ACL Rehabilitation: After the traumatic injury, we work with the athlete to gain motion, strength, trust, and return to sport ability. All rehab is coordinated through the Physician protocol, and return to sport based off of physician permission. We ensure that the athlete will be ready for the return to his/her sport when finished with therapy.
- Patellofemoral pain: A common injury that occurs in both males and females of all ages. We work a combination of flexibility and strength to return to activity and sport.
- Knee Injuries: Whether meniscus, cartilage, strain, or just pain, we work in a pain free manner to restore motion, strength, and function.
- Rotator Cuff / Shoulder Injuries: Strains from throwing, overhead work, lifting or working out, in the garden, or just everyday life, the shoulder is commonly injured. We work to decrease pain, regain full motion, and strengthen so you can return to your sport, job, or daily activity pain free.
- Throwers Evaluation: Every thrower that is seen for a shoulder injury or elbow injury gets a full evaluation of strength, range of motion, flexibility, and core strength. After range of motion and strength has recovered, the throwing mechanics are evaluated to correct any errors. Even with full strength and motion, if the throwing errors are not corrected, the athlete stands a good chance to get reinjured.
- Ankle/Foot Problems: Foot pain, plantar Fascitis, Ankle sprains, Achilles strains or tendonitis, and calf strains, are some of the common injuries seen at Stodden Physical Therapy Foot evaluations can include the recommendations of orthotics, arch supports, or ankle braces. Keeping the foot/ankle in the correct position can help with return to sport, knee, hip, and low back pain. Custom made orthotics are measured and fitted at See The Trainer Sports Medicine Stores.
- Post Surgical Rehab: Rotator Cuff repairs, Shoulder Labrum repairs, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, ACL repairs, Knee and Hip arthroscopies, Total Knees, Total Hips, Ankle Surgeries, and Foot Surgeries are just some of the post surgical candidates seen at Stodden Physical Therapy.
Spine Rehab
- Disc Herniation: Treatment for this condition includes flexibility for back, legs, then stabilization of stomach, back, gluteals, hips, which all include the CORE. There can be massage and myofacial release, brace fitting, mechanical traction, and home traction units given, to assist patient to recover at home as well. A home exercise program is individually made for each patient.
- Back and Neck Pain: Very common ailment for all of the population. Can happen in the back yard, sleeping wrong, lifting something, or after motor vehicle accidents. Treatment includes modalities to relax muscle spasms and help heal tissues. Then a hands on approach that can include massage, myofacial release techniques, mobilizations of spine, mechanical traction, and exercise for flexibility, motion, and stabilization.
- Sciatica: Can be caused by bulging discs, rotated vertebrae or rotated sacro iliac joints. The progression of treatment usually includes getting pain and spasms under control, then work to get normal range of motion back, then strengthen and educate to decrease the potential of re-occurrence.
- Postural Syndromes: Many work stations are not ergonomically designed correctly. If someone is in a bad posture of position for long periods of time, it can create burning, tingling, and/or pain. Treatments work to decrease pain with modalities, and really work on core stability and proper body alignment at work or at home to decreased postural pain.
- Post Surgical Rehab: Working with physician protocol, we try to restore normal motion and flexibility, then work on core and leg stabilization and strength to return patients to work, recreation, or daily activities.
- Shoulder / Hand Syndromes: Pain, tingling, numbess, can be a result of a neck/cervical problem. Treatment includes: motion, nerve gliding or movement to decrease area of nerve being pinched or compressed, then motion and strengthening of neck, shoulders and rest of arm to help regain function again.
- SacroIliac Syndromes: The SI joint is commonly injured when someone bends down with legs straight and picks up a child, heavy object, over something that is just awkward to lift. It can be very painful. Treatment includes: modalities to get pain down and muscles relaxed, then gentle mobilization of the SI joint and lumbar spine. When SI joint is realigned, lifting education, flexibility and strengthening exercises given to prevent reoccurrence.

Treatment for tennis players include: proper grip size for tennis racquet, correct elbow strapping, modalities to decrease inflammation and strengthening to increase elbow, hand, and grip strength.
- Fractures: After any fracture, the patient usually has range of motion and strength deficits. We will work to regain full range of motion and strength for athletics, work, or daily activities.
Industrial Rehab
- Worker’s Compensation
Injuries: What ever the injury is on the job, we will work to get the motion and strength back to normal so the patient can return to work quickly and safely.
- Work Hardening: Preparing the working athlete to return to the job demands with a labor intensive job.
- Ergonomic Education: Patients are educated about correct lifting techniques; office and desk adjustments that can be made
to take stress off of spine, eyes, arms and legs; body position education with job tasks that can decrease potential of injury.
